30 Days To A Healthier, More “Fitter” You Series! (Emotional Fitness)

This past week we have been discussing all the benefits and practices of physical exercise.

We covered the three levels of exercise intensity, we tested your physical fitness and we have identified which exercise program best suits your individual needs and desires.boxer girl

To realize your full power, however, you have to be “fit” in more than just your physical body.

You also have to be “still” and feel your emotions and connect to something greater than yourself.

When you learn to accept absolutely everything about yourself you realize that “happiness doesn’t mean being perfect, it just means looking beyond your imperfections.

When you look beyond your imperfections, you will rejoice in your body by creating harmony & balance in your relationship to yourself, to others and to all of life!

So many people cut themselves off from their true essence by dishonoring their emotions and ignoring the signals their bodies send them about the true state of their health and well-being.

When you re-awaken to your full power, you’ll enact deep changes that will have a huge impact on the rest of your life!

Many of us recognize the importance of well-being, but it is easy to get caught up in our busy schedules to the neglect of some of our needs.

You can find out your current level of well being in each dimension of wellness by answering the questions in this complimentary assessment test.

  1. This is true and it is difficult to help people who don’t look beyond their need for perfection although perfection is never comes. Never. Thanks for the reminder.

    • Hello Brook,
      So true what you said.
Perfectionism is not the same thing as striving to be our best. Perfectionism is not about healthy achievement and growth; it’s a shield.

Perfectionism is a 20-ton shield that we lug around thinking it will protect us when, in fact, it’s the thing that’s really preventing us from being seen and taking flight!
      Healthy blessings,

  3. That was fun! I enjoyed doing the test. Results much as to be expected…room for improvement, but then I know that and am already taking steps to change that so all is good. Great post, healthy living is about all aspects of our lives, not just exercise or healthy eating choices. Great advice here.

    • Thank you Andrea!
      Indeed!
Our four bodies -the physical body, the mental body the emotional body and the spiritual body are the vehicles that enable us to express ourselves in the material world.

It’s not just about exercise and eating healthy.

Each body has a different FUNCTION but together they act as a whole. Meaning Each one influences the other three but they express themselves together.

They are all composed of ENERGY!

Energy flows every moment of your life into these four bodies. If we want them to serve as the best possible instruments for the growth and the development of our SPIRIT then we have to BALANCE the energy flowing through each one of these bodies.

Thank you for reading my article today, commenting and taking the test, and having FUN!! Woohoo!

      Healthy blessings,
      Gena 🙂

  4. What you wrote about is so true, Gena. There is so much more to us than our physical body. When we are tuned into our emotions through our emotional body and our thoughts via our mental body and our greater self with our spiritual body, our life can be so rewarding. Thanks for the great post.

    • Thank you for commenting today Rochelle –

It is true that we are so much more than our physical body and in order to become truly fit, we have to work on all levels of well-being.
This months series has been covering all aspects of “physical” fitness but I wanted to be sure to stress the importance of each aspect of our being. Each aspect makes up the whole.

      Thank you again,
      Healthy blessings,
      Gena 🙂

  5. Great post and very true – I started becoming aware of leading a balanced life over 30 years, as my own health required me to balance my rest, control my thinking, eat healthier and exercise – I can tell when one is just not working – so perfection is not my goal either! 🙂

  6. It is a core change to get healthy. I know that I get distracted from doing what I am suppose to do.
It really is about wanting the change deep inside. Thank you for this reminder. I need to get my butt moving again.

  7. Emotional fitness is just as important as physical fitness. When we channel our emotions constructively into what we are doing, we get much better results all around.

    Great article, Gena.
    Blessings.
