stretchWe learned yesterday that Spiritual Fitness is a practice, which focuses on consciously “choosing” to give ourselves the gift of health, the gift of well-being, the gift of unconditional love and self care.

You Have Achieved Spiritual Fitness When…… 

  • You have purpose behind all your choices.
  • You are positively motivated to do something good for yourself rather than punishing yourself to change a body that you dislike.
  • You understand that well being is a spiritual experience.
  • You place more focus on your inner light.
  • You have become self accepting by coming to terms with your entire self – both your good aspects and your bad aspects – you are in balance.
  • You have learned to use the power of your mind by not dwelling on all the aspects of yourself that you don’t like.
  • You realize that your negative qualities are unimportant so you don’t preoccupy yourself with them.
  • You know that getting fit and healthy is a gift you give to yourself.
  • You love and accept yourself just the way you are.
  • You don’t beat yourself up for mistakes, instead you learn from them and make amends when necessary.
  • You have come to the realization that a mistake is something that happens to everyone and someone who has self love and security can look at a mistake and simply say, “Lesson learned!”
  • You laugh at yourself more often.
  • You have fun with life, friends and yourself.
  • You know that your Spirit loves your body and cares for your body unconditionally. It cares for it because it’s all part of it.
  • You see your body as the physical manifestation of your spirit.
  • You live each moment in the light of love and gratitude.

  3. Love this positive and empowering post. I especially like the part it’s ok to make mistakes, none of us are perfect, so don’t take anything too seriously. I’m a big fan of laughing my way through life. Maybe it doesn’t make much difference to the actual things I experience, but it certainly makes a difference to how I feel about them, which is the most important thing in my opinion! It helps you to really love and accept yourself exactly how you are if you’re a bit lighter about everything. Great post, thank you

      Taking care of yourself is the most selfless thing you can do. Meeting your own needs first allows you to be generous in a way that would otherwise never be possible. Love for the world starts with appreciation of the Self within the self. When we give to ourselves by accepting ourselves just as we ARE, we open freely and give freely to the world!

      Not taking ourselves too seriously is also a healthy practice in well-being.
